* On average, a set of traditional locks will be 85-150.
* In most cases, they are started with a hair coiling technique and then maintained by a palm rolling technique.

* Your loctician should go over which technique will better provide the look you desire.
* A common mistake, when maintaining traditional locks, is using gels or beeswax. There is no need to use such products if you are palming rolling, clipping or braiding down, and sitting under the dryer. Gels and waxes will cause build up and breakage later when your locks mature.
* Regular maintenance is recommended to provide consistent locks.
* Do not combine just because you see a little thinning. Locks can be repaired by a professional if tended to immediately.

* Natural styling is done using your own natural hair. Different forms or twist and updos can last up to 4 weeks if cared for properly
* Protecive styles such and box braids, kinky twist or the new Havana Twist are usually done with hair extentions. They can last up to 3 months with a touchup performed after 6 weeks.
*Both Natural Styling and Protective Styles are a non perminant solution to maintaining healthy natural hair with very little daily maintenance.
